Data Protection, Regulation And Isle of Man Law
Bittylicious is registered as a Designated Business with the Isle of Man's Financial Services Authority. As such, it has certain responsibilities with regard to customer data retention which may not apply to companies operating in other industries.

According to paragraph 33 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code 2015, Bittylicious is required to store user data for at least 5 years even after accounts are marked as deleted:

Here is the exact wording from the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code, paragraph 33:

<blockquote>33 Record retention
*(1)A relevant person must keep the records required by this Code for at least 5 years
**(a)in the case of records required by paragraph 32(b), from the date of the completion of the transaction; and
**(b)in other cases, from the date when
***(i)all activities relating to anoccasional transactionor a series of linked transactions were completed; or
***(ii)in respect of other activities
****(A)the business relationship was formally ended; or
****(B)if the business relationship was not formally ended, when all activities relating to the transaction were completed.
*(2)Without limiting sub-paragraph (1), if
**(a)a report has been made to a constable under paragraphs26(1)(f)and 28;
**(b)the relevant person knows or believes that a matter is under investigation by a competent authority; or
**(c)the relevant person becomes aware that a request for information or an enquiry is underway by a competent authority,the relevant person must retain all relevant records for as long as required by the constable or competent authority as the case may be.
</blockquote>

The legislation does not specify a maximum number of years for data retention. This being the case, and following common industry practice, Bittylicious retains data for 5 years from the date of deletion.

When the account is marked as deleted, we set a flag meaning the account can no longer be registered again. After 5 years, any sort of identifiable data, including uploaded data, will be automatically deleted.

GDPR Article 17 Right To Erasure
The Isle of Man is not a member of the European Union. Even though Isle of Man legislation specifically introduced the GDPR into law, the GDPR itself specifically allows for instances where Article 17 (right to erasure) conflicts with other legislation, even in member states.

In the case of Bittylicious, Isle of Man legislation is the only applicable law, namely the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code 2015, as described above.

Bittylicious therefore not only has the right, but has an explicit duty under Isle of Man law, to retain these records for longer than companies which are not registered as a Designated Business might. It is unfortunate that the legislation does not explicitly set an upper limit of years for record retention. This being the case, Bittylicious follows common industry practice and retains records for 5 years, enabling it to comply fully with its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing duties as a Designated Business.

Verification based limits
Regulations mean that for purchases of any size, all users need to have gone through the full ID validation process. There's a list of the types of documents we can accept for that on our accepted forms of ID page

IP based limits
You should connect from a computer based in the country you are buying Bitcoins from. For example, if you are trying to buy Bitcoins using a UK bank account, please connect from the UK. If you are abroad or otherwise need an exception, please verify your ID and then contact us at [mailto:support@bittylicious.com support@bittylicious.com].

If your IP address and country you're purchasing from don't match, your limits will be reduced. If you attempt to buy from an anonymous proxy, your purchase attempt will be declined.

Your limits will also be significantly lower if you are using a mobile data connection.

Account age limit
Long term users are generally trusted more, so your overall purchasing limits increase with account age. As the age of your account increases since your first significant purchase, so will your limits.

Ongoing limits
Ongoing limits apply, and are subject to change at short notice. For example in some situations, once twelve hours have passed since your last purchase, half of that amount might be purchased again. Once 48 hours have passed, the entire amount might be purchased again. In this case, if your limit was 1 BTC and you bought 1 BTC at midnight, at noon you would be able to buy another 0.5 BTC, or after 48 hours you would be able to buy a further 1 BTC.

Astropoint: /* Acceptable */

Context
In order to comply with Know Your Customer best practices, we require ID when a certain level of trades have been processed. Additionally, your spending limits are increased significantly when ID is validated because the account becomes more trusted.

If you will never have the need to do credit/debit card purchases (e.g. bank transfers are fine) then the requirements are a little more flexible. Please see the #I do not care about credit card payments section below.

For the validation to be completed we need as a minimum one proof of name AND one proof of address document from the list below. Until both are uploaded the documents will be listed as Pending since they are processed together, and just uploading one will not increase your limits.

For technical information on how we store your identity documents, see How are my uploaded documents stored?

Proof of name
Acceptable
All ID must have not expired at the time of upload and they must not be black and white scans. If using a scanner please turn off any OCR functionality as this interferes with our ability to validate the ID. This is required even if your account is for a company's use. Please do not merge the front and back of any ID cards onto the same page, upload them as separate photos or scans.

* Passport (full photo page).
* Full driving licence (photocard, front and back).
* Provisional driving licence (photocard, front and back). You must still be over 18 to use most card payment providers.
* National ID card (photocard, front and back).
* PASS card (front and back, with photograph and date of birth)

Not acceptable
* Student/NUS card
* Locally issued cards, e.g. local authority bus pass with photo
* Handwritten documents

Notices
* Residential permits are not usually sufficient, and are always rejected for people born outside of the EEA (e.g. Russia) and living in Europe.

Proof of address
<span style="color:#880000">Note: Online / downloadable documents are usually just fine. See below.</span>

Acceptable
All proofs of address must have an issue date within the last 3 months. These can be digital versions in pdf format, i.e. downloaded from your account with the appropriate provider, but screenshots cannot be accepted nor can any edited documents, photos of printouts of the pdf etc. We need the originals.

In all cases we need the entire document. For paper documents this means the entire page rather than just the part with your address on. For PDFs this needs to be the entire original version of the PDF with all subsequent pages.

We can't accept documents which have been 'printed' to another PDF, we'd need the original documents. In the cases of banks such as TSB where the bank does not produce a direct pdf version of a statement sadly we cannot accept printed to pdf versions of statements from these banks. Halifax and Lloyds user can now download PDF versions of statements via online banking, however we can't accept the older style printer friendly printouts.

If you are validating an account for company use, please ensure this is a bill addressed to the company, and ensure your company's name is filled in on the profile page. The address should ideally be your company's registered office.

The following documents are usually acceptable for all payment methods, including card payments.

* Fixed phone line bill.
* Council tax bill (only accepted for 3 months after the issue date)
* TV licence (only accepted for 3 months after the issue date, so if the expiry date is February 2019, it would have been issued in February 2018 so is only valid until May 2018)
* TV provider bill (e.g. Sky, BT).
* Internet services bill (e.g. broadband).
* Utility bill (e.g. gas, electricity, water).
* Mortgage statement.
* Mobile phone bill (must match the verified phone number on the account).
* Bank statement (posted statement or online original PDF; print outs and transactions lists not permitted).
* Accommodation rental bill, including
** Rent statements from your landlord.
** Rent statements from student accommodation.

Semi-acceptable
These documents are only accepted for bank transfers (and equivalents).

* Credit card statement.

Not acceptable
* Any ID you have used as the Proof of name.
* Driving licence.
* Screenshots of web pages, e.g. screenshots of online banking transactions. If you are uploading an online bill we need the original pdf file, not a screenshot of the first page, photograph of the screen or split PDF just showing some pages.
* Anything in the "Other" category on the upload page unless we have specifically said it is ok for your account. This category cannot allow access to card purchases

If you are not intending on making credit card purchases, please see the #I do not care about credit card payments section below as our own validation is more lenient.

If you have no bills in your name
If you live with parents or a partner and all bills are in their name, please attach the following in one document (e.g. by printing out and taking a picture):

* A brief letter from your parent/partner stating that you live with them, signed by the parent/partner.
* The parent/partner's proof of ID as per the Proof of name section.
* The parent/partner's proof of address, i.e. a suitable, recent bill in their name.

Proof of bank account
This should be a statement, and also issued within the last three months.

We a bank statement which should show your account number, sort code (or BIC/SWIFT and IBAN), your name, address and overall account information like balances. For a paper statement we would need a scan or a photo of the first page of the statement, or an online copy of your statement downloaded from your online banking site. If you send us an online downloaded PDF, it must be totally unaltered. This means you must include the entire file and you cannot send just certain pages, for instance. We also cannot accept screenshots of your online banking pages.

Why so strict?
We have arrangements with payment providers that have strict requirements. These are the requirements that they are legally bound to.

I do not have suitable documents
Please get in touch with us at [mailto:support@bittylicious.com support@bittylicious.com] and let us know what you have. In any case, some form of governmental issued photo ID is a must.

I do not care about credit card payments
If you are not intending on using Bittylicious to make purchases with a credit/debit card, we can be more lenient with the types of ID we accept (contact us first though as otherwise the documents may well just be rejected). Bittylicious ID validation differs from the above when it comes to proof of address validation in the following ways:

* If you have made a bank transfer with us first, documentation is valid if it is less than six (as opposed to three) months old.

Name Changes
If you've changed your name either through marriage or by deed poll then we will need to see a copy of the certificate or document. This needs to be emailed to [mailto:support@bittylicious.com support@bittylicious.com] when you submit the name change request through your profile. For deed poll name changes, we can only accept changes which have been officially enrolled on The Gazette

Astropoint:

Introduction
This follows on from the Getting verified guide, but will detail the process for corporate accounts. The first five steps are detailed in the Getting verified guide.

Corporate accounts require a little more information, but are more than welcome on Bittylicious.

Step 6 - Company details
<br clear=all>

The first step in the Verification pages details basic information about your company. Please fill in the following details:

* Business name: The full business name according to the official registry.
* Registered country: The country in which the company is registered. If you click Other, you will be provided with a list of countries outside the United Kingdom.
* Company type: The company type. Most "limited" companies not on a stock market come under Private Limited company. Please enter the closest company type according to your jurisdiction.
* Registration number: The unique registration number according to any official registry, e.g. Companies House, Companies Registry, etc. Bittylicious will attempt to auto-detect this if this is a company in England and Wales or Scotland.
* Formation date: The date in which the company was formed or officially registered.

Step 7 - Company address
<br clear=all>

Bittylicious will attempt to fetch information from Companies House if this is an England and Wales or Scotland company. In all other cases, you will need to enter the following addresses:

* Registered company address: The address at which your company is formally registered.
* Principle place of business: The address where most of the work for the company is performed.

In many cases, the Principle place of business is the same as the Registered company address, in which case you can tick the Same as registered company address box.

Once the address(es) are entered, please click Update company addresses.

Step 8 - Company people
<br clear=all>

Again, Bittylicious will attempt to fetch information from Companies House if this is an England and Wales or Scotland company. In all other cases, you will need to enter the following addresses:

* Primary company officer: The main company officer with signatory power who is signing up for this account. We will need a proof of name for this company officer later on. You will need to enter the Nationality, Country of birth and Date of birth for this officer.
* Senior company officers: Other senior company officers, e.g. other directors.
* Ultimate owners: Real people who have 25% or more shares or voting rights.

Primary and senior company officers can also be ultimate owners. If this is the case, click Also an ultimate owner to the right of the officer in question.

In the screenshot above, there are three relevant people:

* Satoski Nakamoto: Both the primary company officer and an ultimate owner.
* Hal Finney: A senior company officer only.
* Dorian Nakamoto: An ultimate owner only.

Once all information has been entered, please click Update company officers.

Step 9 - Mobile phone verification
<br clear=all>

Please enter your mobile phone number here including the international prefix, e.g. +44 for the United Kingdom.

Click Add mobile phone number to profile and Bittylicious will send a SMS (text message) to your mobile phone number.

Step 10 - Enter SMS verification code
<br clear=all>

Please enter the SMS code received on your mobile phone into this box and click Verify mobile phone number. In this case, we assume you received the code 2083236893 but you probably received something else.

If you made a mistake with your mobile phone number, you can click Delete mobile phone number to try again. You can only do this a limited number of times.

Step 11 - Source of Funds
<br clear=all>
Please fill in the declartion of where your main source of funds for purchasing is. You may be asked to provide confirmation of this towards the end of the validation process. Once that is selected click on the Update source of funds information to continue

Step 12 - Company proof of address documentation
<br clear=all>

Here, you will need to upload suitable proof of address documentation for the company. This must be one of the documents that we permit but in general, this is well known statements from well known companies sent to your company's registered address.

You need to select the type of document you are uploading first. Then, you need to click Browse... to choose a file corresponding to a photo of your proof of address. This can also be a PDF downloaded from your provider's website (e.g. a downloaded gas statement).

Once you have selected the document, click Upload proof of address. A yellow progress bar will be displayed, and afterwards, your verification documents will be submitted.

You are also welcome to upload a bank account statement. It is recommended to do this if you have one available.

Step 13 - Director proof of name
<br clear=all>

Here, you will need to upload suitable proof of name documentation for the primary company officer. This must be one of the documents that we permit but in general, this is governmental photo ID.

You need to select the type of document you are uploading first. Then, you need to click Browse... to choose a file corresponding to a photo of your ID. Click on the next Browse... button to upload the reverse of the document if appropriate, e.g. for a driving license.

Once you have selected the documents, click Upload proof of name. A yellow progress bar will be displayed, and afterwards, you will be directed to the Proof of address page.

You are also welcome to upload a second proof of name. It is recommended to do this if you have one available, e.g. a passport and a driving license.

Step 14 - Wait for verification
<br clear=all>

Once you have done this, on the homepage you will see a small, red bar saying that your documents are in the queue for verification.

During the UK working day, this usually takes a few hours maximum. During the night, please expect to wait until the next morning for your documents to be verified.

If anything is wrong with your documents, Bittylicious will detail the reasons in an email which will be sent out. We are friendly, so please feel free to [mailto:support@bittylicious.com drop our support team an email] if you are struggling in any way. We respond very quickly.

Astropoint:

Introduction
Getting a fully verified account at Bittylicious is very easy and enables you to have higher purchasing limits and get better prices.

We recommend all customers go through the verification process and if you choose to do this, we require documentation in the form of one proof of name and one proof of address. We store all documents securely and have a data protection registration.

Step 1 - Register new account
First, go to the registration page. This should look like the below:

<br clear=all>

Fill in the following information:

* Type of account:
** Personal (for most normal accounts)
** Corporate (if you are trading as a company or sole trader).
* Email address: Your real email address.
* Password: A secure password, either very long or with numbers and letters. This cannot be a regularly used password on the Internet, like password123456.
* Full, real name: Your real name. Please do not put in a fake name - it will be detected.

Make sure you tick on the box saying you agree with the terms and conditions and then click Register.

Step 2 - Check your email
Bittylicious will have sent you an email. If you do not see it, please check your spam folder, especially if you are on Hotmail/Outlook.

There will be a link in that email which confirms that your email address is correct. Please click on this link and you will be logged in.

Step 3 - Go to the profile page
Once you are logged in, you will see a yellow/green bar which is the main menu. If you click on Profile you will be taken to the profile information pages.

Step 4 - Declaration
The Basic settings page has three sections:

# Profile information: Basic information which should match what you entered in the registration page.
# Declaration: Any special conditions on your account (see below).
# Notifications: Information on when you wish to receive notifications from us.

You will need to choose one option in the declaration section below:

<br clear=all>
You can find out information on what is required by clicking on the appropriate links in blue.

For most people, clicking the first Correct, none of these apply to me option and then Update declaration will be the correct choice. However, please read these conditions carefully and click Some of these may apply if appropriate. It simply means that we as we have to ask for further information from you before verifying your account.

Step 5 - Go to the verification page
The next step is to go to the verification pages. This will lead to a user-friendly "wizard" where you can follow each step easily.

Click on the Verification link in the purple bar towards the top of the page.

Corporate accounts
At this point, the process differs if you are registering a corporate account. If this is the case, please follow the Getting verified guide for corporate accounts page.

Step 6 - Personal details
<br clear=all>

Please fill in basic personal details on this page. This includes:

* Address: Your full, real address that you receive correspondence. Bittylicious will match uploaded documentation to this later on.
* Nationality: Your primary nationality.
* Birth information: Your date of birth and country of birth.

After you have entered this information, click on Update personal details and you will be taken to the next page.

Step 7 - Source of Funds
<br clear=all>
Please fill in the declartion of where your main source of funds for purchasing is. You may be asked to provide confirmation of this towards the end of the validation process. Once that is selected click on the Update source of funds information to continue

Step 8 - Mobile phone verification
<br clear=all>

Please enter your mobile phone number here including the international prefix, e.g. +44 for the United Kingdom.

Click Add mobile phone number to profile and Bittylicious will send a SMS (text message) to your mobile phone number.

Step 9 - Enter SMS verification code
<br clear=all>

Step 10 - Proof of name documentation
<br clear=all>

Here, you will need to upload suitable proof of name documentation.

Step 11 - Proof of address documentation
<br clear=all>

Here, you will need to upload suitable proof of address documentation. This must be one of the documents that we permit but in general, this is well known statements from well known companies sent to your residential address.

Step 12 - Wait for verification
<br clear=all>

Bittylicious is a marketplace
Before reading further, please be aware that Bittylicious is technically a marketplace where various sellers offer their Bitcoins for sale. Prices and minimum purchase limits are not set by Bittylicious itself, but by the sellers within Bittylicious.

Verification based limits
Bittylicious is designed such that unregistered users can only buy around £50 worth of Bitcoins. As you go through the verification processes, you are able to buy more Bitcoins. The amounts by which your Bitcoins go up regularly changes, but they increase as you:

# Register and verify your email address
# Verify your mobile phone number
# Upload your name and address identification (large increase here)

In certain situations, the amount you can buy might be less than the minimum permitted purchase. If this is the case, you will need to consider doing the above verification steps.

When your account is 3, 7, 14 or 30 days old (since your first significant purchase), we increase your limits.

Ongoing limits
Once twelve hours have passed since your last purchase, half of that amount can be purchased again. Once 48 hours have passed, the entire amount can be purchased again. For example, if your limit was 1 BTC and you bought 1 BTC at midnight, at noon you would be able to buy another 0.5 BTC, or after 48 hours you would be able to buy a further 1 BTC.

Customers that bank with HSBC & First direct continuously get a poor service from them. Below are two very frequent occurrences which will almost certainly be the reason for any delay in your payment reaching one of our brokers.

Making payments after 6pm
If you make a payment to a non-HSBC account or to a new payee, the online banking will tell you that the payment cannot be made today. If you phoned their customer service department about it they tell you it is because the receiving bank will not accept the payment until the following morning. This information is false as all other banks have no problem sending to each other through the evening.

These payments will be debited from your account around 8am and, subject to fraud checks, arrive at their destination just after 9am.

Delayed payments
HSBC and First Direct are very well known for their payment delays and they tend to process payments on the hour.

If you try and call them within 2 hours of making the payment, their customer services department will tell you that faster payments can take up to 2 hours to go through.

If you call up after the two hours has passed, they will tell you that the payment has been processed even if you specifically ask them whether it has been held for fraud and security checks (which happens frequently). They even go so far as to say that the receiving bank must be doing payment checks before releasing the payment to the destination account. If this happens then we would see that the payment had arrived and had been held for checks.

Unfortunately, the reality here is that their staff are poorly trained and the payment will be with their fraud and security team for checks. You can either wait out the delay or you could speak to their fraud and security department directly on 0345 266 9337. Once they have confirmed that it has indeed been held by them, they will process it and state that it will take up to two hours to credit the account. The reality is that it will be between 1-2 hours from when they've told you this. HSBC/First direct tend to only process their payments on/shortly after the hour too.

If this happens to you and they lie to you as above, you have every right to put in a complaint to them (and the Financial Ombudsman) as its unacceptable behaviour by an established bank like them.

Summary
We try our best to help and guide you through the inefficiencies of the banking system but, as above has shown, things aren't always within our power to solve. This is yet another reason for the crypto currency world to thrive so we can retire these aging banking fossils.

Before you start with Bittylicious
How to buy Bitcoin? There's only one thing you need before buying Bitcoins with Bittylicious - a wallet in which to store your Bitcoins. Bitcoin wallets enable you to send and receive Bitcoins with other users, and each user or business in the Bitcoin ecosystem has a wallet.

Wallets can be generated online (web wallets), by running a Bitcoin client on your own machine (local wallets), or by buying a small device (hardware wallet).

If you prefer to see a neat video presentation showing how to get a wallet and take your first steps, check out the MyCurrencyTransfer blog.

Web wallets
This is the easiest way to get started in the Bitcoin world. It is the least secure, but when starting off and if you exercise good security, you should be OK.

Web wallets host your cryptocurrency. This means, to varying levels, that you are trusting the company that hosts the wallet to look after it on your behalf. In many ways, this is more secure than looking after the wallet yourself, but it does mean that it is possible for them to lose your cryptocurrency following any incident on their side.

There are a few providers, but these are some of the best ones and we recommend these (but do your own research!):

* blockchain.com (Bitcoin and Ethereum only)
* GreenAddress (Bitcoins only)

Note that these providers might also offer a way to convert money into Bitcoins. You're welcome to do that, but you'll usually get a better price using Bittylicious. We recommend you just use the above sites for their wallet functionality alone.

Local wallets
These are more complicated to set up, but involve you being in full control of your Bitcoin wallet.

You can get these local wallets for your computer, but phones are often a bit more secure so we recommend getting phone apps, typically for Android or iPhone.

Note though that if all goes wrong and your computer or phone explodes, unless you've taken precautions, you may lose your Bitcoins.

* Bitcoin Core - the full Bitcoin client. Takes a very long time to get synchronised so we do not recommend it for new users. However, it is considered the de facto Bitcoin client.
* Samourai Wallet - a well respected mobile phone application for Android.
* Electrum - easy to use, lightweight Bitcoin client for most popular operating systems.
* Armory - an advanced Bitcoin wallet for most popular operating systems.
* Mycelium - an easy to use Bitcoin wallet for Android and iPhone.

Hardware wallets
If you are buying any serious quantity of cryptocurrency, we strongly recommend getting a hardware wallet. These are the most secure way to store cryptocurrency by a long way.

The two major producers, both of which are hugely respected, are:

* Ledger, producers of the Nano S.
* Trezor, who were the first on the block.

Buying Bitcoins
Now that your wallet is set up, you need to generate a Bitcoin address. Each wallet has its own way of doing this but it should be relatively straightforward. A Bitcoin address will look something like 19Qbest5y8t5qZhJ36PhUWNUYeDroL6BkF.

Step 1 - Do you want to get verified first?
Unless you properly sign up and verify you and your account, your limits will be severely restricted. We strongly recommend you follow the Getting verified guide as this goes through the simple steps required to be verified.

You may be able to buy small amounts without registering an account though, but these amounts will cost more than normal.

Step 2 - What do you want to buy?
Go to the main Bittylicious index page and you will be presented with simple questions about your potential purchase.

<br clear=all>
Here, you simply copy and paste your Bitcoin address into the top box and type in how many Bitcoins you want into the second box.

The number of Bitcoins you can buy at any time is limited by our calculation algorithm. If you register your email address and perform various validation requirements, you can buy more.

You can also choose how you would like to pay. Typically, people in the UK wish to use Bank transfer, the currently selected option. Verified users can also buy via credit/debit card by selecting this option. There are also other options available such as mobile phone payment options.

Once you have entered the details, click Get some coins at the bottom.

Step 2 - Make the payment
<br clear=all>
This screen presents all the details you need in order to make an bank transfer from your bank account, however the details can potentially change on every trade so make sure you are using the correct ones.

You will need to log into your online banking with whatever bank you use (e.g. Halifax, Santander) and make a transfer. This will usually be under a heading like Make a funds transfer or Pay a person. This page tells you what sort code, account number and name this payment is going to, and it also provides the reference. It is essential that you copy and paste this reference into the Reference box in your online banking.

It is important to note that the bank account the payment comes from must match the name that your Bittylicious account is registered under. Also, make sure that you don't bank with one of the banned banks.

The above image is just an example page you might get. Please do not use the account details above, but use the details you are given when you start a new 'real' trade.

Only when the payment is completed according to your online banking should you click I have made payment.

Step 3 - Wait for payment to arrive
<br clear=all>

Now you just need to wait for the payment to be received by the broker's bank. This is usually complete within a few minutes, but sometimes banks can be slow so we allow two hours for this to complete.

When we receive the funds, the page will automatically update to a page similar to the one below:

<br clear=all>

Here, confirmation is provided that the payment has been received. You will also see a long string of letters and numbers that denotes the unique transaction ID for this payment. This transaction ID is the Bitcoin transaction and if you click on the link, you will see information on the payment including the address you are sending the Bitcoins to.

You will usually receive the Bitcoins in your wallet within the hour, but if you are waiting longer, please see our guide titled Coins have not arrived.

Spend your Bitcoins
Now you just need to decide what to do with your Bitcoins! You can keep them as an investment, or choose from a huge number of locations to spend them. Here are some examples:

* Get some web hosting services in exchange for Bitcoin
* Play Bitcoin poker
* Buy gift cards with Bitcoin

This page tells you what sort code, account number and name this payment is going to, and it also provides the reference. It is essential that you copy and paste this reference into the Reference box in your online banking.

It is important to note that the bank account the payment comes from must match the name that your Bittylicious account is registered under. Also, make sure that you don't bank with one of the banned banks.

The above image is just an example page you might get. Please do not use the account details above, but use the details you are given when you start a new 'real' trade.

Only when the payment is completed according to your online banking should you click I have made payment.

Step 3 - Wait for payment to arrive
<br clear=all>

Now you just need to wait for the payment to be received by the broker's bank. This is usually complete within a few minutes, but sometimes banks can be slow so we allow two hours for this to complete.

When we receive the funds, the page will automatically update to a page similar to the one below:

<br clear=all>

* Play Bitcoin poker

__NOTOC__

* blockchain.com (Bitcoin and Ethereum only)
* GreenAddress (Bitcoins only)

<br clear=all>
Here, you simply copy and paste your Bitcoin address into the top box and type in how many Bitcoins you want into the second box.

<br clear=all>
This screen presents all the details you need in order to make an bank transfer from your bank account, however the details can potentially change on every trade so make sure you are using the correct ones.

Now you just need to wait for the payment to be received by the broker's bank. This is usually complete within a few minutes, but sometimes banks can be slow so we allow two hours for this to complete.

This transaction ID is the Bitcoin transaction and if you click on the link, you will see information on the payment including the address you are sending the Bitcoins to.

Any real bank is fine, and any bank that correctly sends the account name and the reference across is also fine. Some banks do not do this, and these must not be used with Bittylicious. The banks/payment services listed below cannot be used to buy from Bittylicious:

United Kingdom
* APS Financial (their implementation of Faster Payments takes too long - typically 3-4 hours)
* Arrow Money (does not send payer data)
* Bank of Ireland (payments take around 35 hours and no payer information is sent)
* Cahoot (seems to send slow payments via Bank Giro Credit)
* CardOne (does not send payer data)
* Cater Allen (payments take 24-48 hours to arrive)
* Cumberland Building Society (unreliable payer information for Paym - this can be used for bank transfers, but not PAYM)
* Dozens - Unreliable payer information and recipient name on transfers
* Eccount (because they use BACS, not Faster Payments)
* Ffrees (payments take 1+ days to send and does not send payer data)
* Fidor Bank UK (payments can take up to two hours to arrive and only during UK working hours)
* Intelligent Finance (takes a long time to arrive)
* Loot (does not send payer data)
* My CashPlus
* Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (unreliable payer information)
* One account (does not send payer data)
* Revolut (payments seem to take 30 minutes to send, occasionally up to 2 days)
* Payoneer (for selling cryptocurrencies as they only accept incoming payments from company accounts)
* Pocket, Pocket (Wireless Card Solutions Ltd) - (does not send payer data)
* PockitCard - Slow payments, doesn't send payer data
* Santander Online Savings accounts - Current accounts are fine, but online only accounts with names like X13000000 do not supply payer information
* Saurus - (recipient name seems to be duplicated, slow payments)
* Secure Trust (payments take 1+ days to send)
* Skipton Bulding society investment account (unreliable payer information)
* Standard bank international (slow payments, does not send payer data)
* Suits Me - (Doesn't send payer data)
* thinkmoney (slow payments)
* Tide - Unreliable payer data & slow payments
* Transferwise - (does not send payer data)
* U Account (does not send payer data)
* United Bank UK (does not send payer data)
* Yorkshire Building Society (payments take 24 hours to arrive)
* Ziglu (slow payments)

You also must not use any intermediaries that convert between currencies, e.g. Transferwise. This is because we lose any information about the payer.

Republic of Ireland
* Bank of Ireland (payments take around 35 hours and no payer information is sent)
Poland
* Bank Spółdzielczy w Piasecznie (does not send payer data)

Why do Bitcoins on Bittylicious cost so much?

Before asking this question, you should understand how Bittylicious works.

Bittylicious actually works as a marketplace with many different Bitcoin brokers on the back end. They can each choose their own price and the best one is provided to you, the user. This means that the price shown is the best price that the brokers are willing to trade at. The price is not controlled by Bittylicious itself and there is no fixed price formula.

Often, the price is a bit more than some of the large exchanges out there, and to do a fair comparison you would need to compare it with GBP sites based in the UK.

There are many costs associated with offering Bitcoins and other virtual currencies to you, the user, on Bittylicious. Compared to the bigger exchanges, the benefits of Bittylicious over a large market include:

# Bittylicious is UK based and follows UK law.
# Bittylicious is priced primarily in British pounds.
# You would need to pay foreign exchange costs to put GBP onto a market (e.g. converting to US Dollars).
# On many markets, there are huge restrictions on withdrawing fiat and large Bitcoin amounts.
# You often need to pay fees to put money onto the exchanges in the first place.

And other costs that brokers have to face include:

# There is fraud in the banking world, meaning brokers sometimes lose money altogether.
# Most banks hate cryptocurrencies, meaning there's the risk of losing bank accounts.
# Banks often charge fees for transactions, especially on business bank accounts.
# Bittylicious itself charges brokers a small fee.

Those costs, including time costs, all add up. We believe Bittylicious offers the easiest way for people to buy Bitcoins and sometimes this can come at a little extra cost.

Transaction fees
As well as the costs listed above, the Bitcoin network has a concept of transaction fees, which originally was designed to be a small fee for transactions to be sent and included in a Bitcoin block. Bittylicious uses the recommended fee set by the Bitcoin core client to get a transaction confirmed quickly, although if there are unexpected spikes in network activity or a lack of blocks it can take a little longer. Generally these fees are not particularly high, however at times of extreme load on the network (eg. December 2017) these have however been exceptionally high (~£25) and would always need to be included within the price.

Estimates of the current network fees are available can be viewed at BitInfoCharts.
